Not-Just-Recipes is very pleased to have Jillian A. Mills as the newest member of the NJR Team! Jillian is a freelance writer/editor and LMT from El Paso, TX. She has written on subjects ranging from biographies to fine home living, medical advancements, women's issues, health, food and wine, travel and more. She also worked as a staff editor for a publishing house that produced several high-end publications which enabled her to find, write and develop stories and see them through the rigorous process that transforms ideas into published works.
Being a former paramedical examiner and a current licensed massage therapist, Jillian has always studied health and wellness. In her time writing and editing for a notable Southwest food and wine magazine, she was able to work with numerous talented chefs, restaurants and experts in the areas of fine dining and wine. She had many opportunities to sample exquisite fare and served on a panel of judges for an ACF (American Culinary Federation) bake off. When you marry these life experiences, you end up with a foodie wannabe; but, not at the cost of sacrificing health and nutrition.
Now, a committed vegetarian, Jillian is determined to add myth buster to her list of accomplishments. Her aim is to show that a plant based diet isn't simply a healthier lifestyle choice; but it can even be more versatile, satisfying and delectable than one that is meat based.
