1/2 cup instant vital wheat gluten flour
1/2 cup water
1 cup water
1 cup vegetable broth
1/4 cup nutritional yeast
1 tsp onion powder
1/4 teaspoon celery salt
Mix 1/2 instant vital wheat gluten flour and 1/2 cup water in a bowl. Knead for 5 minutes. Cut into small bite sized chunks.
In a large saucepan put the 1 cup water, vegetable broth, nutritional yeast, onion powder and celery salt and bring to a boil. Drop the gluten chunks carefully into the broth. Reduce heat and simmer until all the broth is absorbed. Stir every 10 minutes...the little chunks will expand while cooking. For a chewy meat texture when all the broth is absorbed bake for 30 minutes in a 350 degree oven.
When it's done just put on your favorite meal for a yummy meaty experience! I make a bunch and then freeze it then I just add it to my favorite recipes! Enjoy!
