money going to these orginizations

by Harriet Cragle

My fear is when these organizations get this money it is what do they send money to and support. some of these animal rights put animals before human by being obnoxious about the misery of animals and supporting abortion of human babies. Others do the same thing by supporting organizations that my conscience cannot give money to knowingly.

I know that the Animal Rights organizations does and PITA does and many many other organizations.I see no sense in saving the life of an animal over killing a baby. Religion or Christianity does come into play here. I do believe God fully intended for humans to eat of vegetables and fruit but sin by man is what changed it in the garden. But man can now eat meat, but it can defile the body like all food the way we eat today.

Most of healthy eating is in veggies and fruit. My argument with this is who am I supporting by getting the book knowing even $1.00 is going toward another org. that kills babies. And puts animals above people.

I DO NOT believe in cruelty of animals. But it has gotten out of hand. And overplayed by animal rights people. And I call that irresponsible.

Thanks for Dropping us a Note!

Harriet,

Thanks for the note and your concern over the issue of money going to certain organizations. I certainly understand your point of view. At times it does seem to be out of balance and I agree that some organizations go to extremes to get their point across.

We at NJR believe there must be a balance. However, I will say that this website is about food, healthy eating, living in an eco-friendly manner as much as possible and animal welfare. The e-book we authored is a cookbook. No organization can be everything to everybody, including NJR. We choose our battles, so to speak.

We like PCRM because they take a healthy, sensible approach to eating a plant-based diet and to caring for our bodies. We like the AICR because of the fact that they promote healthy eating and because of the important research they do to try to end one kind of human suffering. We like Farm Sanctuary because of the work they do to expose the absolute cruelty inherent to factory farming and rescue mistreated animals. Finally, the Cairn Rescue Network is a small network that may be pretty focused on one specific breed of dog but express their concern for all animals as well. And they are connected to us via a personal friend.

Trust me, we are not oblivious to the suffering and injustices done to humans but as I said, we do have to choose our battles. This is one small way we believe we can help. We believe that to do one small thing in perhaps one small way is better than doing nothing at all. We also believe that humankind will never learn to peacefully co-exist and love one another until they learn to be good stewards of the animal kingdom as well.

Thank you for checking us out. We would hope that you can find some value in what we do and support us for that but it is certainly your choice. Just like us, you have to choose your own battles. Be well!
